The Checklist - Titanfall 2 (2016)
Why it's on the list: Giant Bomb's Jeff Gerstmann commended it highly, and I like a good sci-fi shooter.
How I played it: Xbox One, on disc - 'twas a 2016 Christmas present from my brother.
When I played it: Immediately after Christmas 2016.
How far I got:
- Finished the campaign on Regular
- 675/1000 Achievement Points
What I thought:
It's very good. The campaign has some epic, totally unexpected moments and mechanics; the mobility stuff (wall-running, double-jumps, etc.) and the mech gameplay is really cool. The options given to you by the different load-outs are very cool and feel different enough to be meaningful. It is a bit short, like most first-person shooter campaigns, but it's also very sweet. I've thought more than once about hopping back into the Campaign on a harder difficulty.
As for the multiplayer, I've never been much of an online guy - but I did jump into it for a bit and, even though I sucked, I liked it. If I had a better internet connection at uni I might even have stuck with it.
I never played the first game (it was multiplayer-only), but this is a great place to hop in.
